Christmas Dinner ideas (non traditional) ?
Jan 1st, 2010 by admin
What are some ideas for a non traditional Christmas dinner?
We are a young family and not really into "Green bean casserole" or things like that. 🙂
I am tempted to make a pizza shaped like a Christmas tree. 😀 haha
I do want it to seem festive, but not completely traditional.

Ideas please!
Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, macaroni and some biscuits. That’s what my roommates and I are making since we can’t go home for the holidays until after the New Years

If it’s just your immediate (husband & children) family, I’d go with ham, baked potatoes, salad, dinner rolls, and pumpkin pie for desert.
Wine for the adults, whatever drinks the kids like for them.

Love your pizza idea! And you can enjoy Christmas instead of standing in the kitchen! Serve with sparkling cider in fabulous tall stems. Make a fancy dessert (the day before). YUM!

Have a themed christmas dinner, like mexican or italian. Still a nice dinner and should apeal to everyone’s tastes

My husband and I don’t generally have a typical Christmas dinner. We have my side of the family over and what we do is just serve a lot of appetizers. The only thing that we always have turkey quesadillas. Some other things we have had are cheese/jalapenos pinwheels, mini quiches, shrimp cocktail, etc. It is really fun and not much hassle. Of course we have a lot of cookies, pies, and usually a cake. We go way overboard with the desserts.

Thick cut Pork chops, mashed potatoes, gravy, creamed corn, green beans, and a tall glass of milk.
