Any ideas as to what I should make for Christmas dinner?
Jan 10th, 2010 by admin
I don’t want to do turkey or ham, and my mom is doing lasagna on Christmas day. This is for Christmas Eve dinner with my dad. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!
A nice dish my mom used to make is a Roast cooked dry in the oven in low heat. A slow cook keeps the juices in. Then with the juice in the pan make yorkshire pudding.(kind of like a popover) I believe it is a British dish. Very tasty. She served it with a green vegetable, and potatoes.

Ok.. How about Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy, another vegetable (yellow or orange), your desserts and bread.
OR….. Pork loin, glazed yams, corn, bread, dessert
I have done both.

A really good stuffed leg of lamb would be good or maybe doing a turducken (a turkey, chicken and duck combined….)…or if u really want to go for it a pot roast…..

a turkey well done can be nice but at the same time not too original.
why not just cook a turkey recipe but using instead of turkey pork meat.
add your favorite drinks.

oooooo um… banana squash, that green bean casarole, terriyake chicken, roast beef, mash potatoes, steak, salad, fruit salad, or you could pull a christmas story and go out for chinese. (ask them to sing deck the halls) :>

my brain may not be big but its full of stuff
If it’s just 2 or 3 of you, I’d suggest some good steaks or filet mignon. If it’s a larger group, I’d do prime rib which is what we’re having!
We’ll also have twice baked potatoes, Yorkshire Pudding, whatever green veggie (asparagus, broccoli or beans) look best and best price that week, plus a nice salad.
Dessert of course is easy if you’ve baked any Christmas cookies!
