What are some Christmas decorating ideas for a new family?
Dec 20th, 2009 by admin
My boyfriend and are going to decorate together this year. I have 2 boys and he has one and we will be celebrating our first Christmas together as one big family. Does anyone have any really nice, meaningful decorations we could use to paint the picture of blessed, happy family?
Thanks
When my kids were little I started to paint my windows, the glass. I purchased powdered tempra paints in the primary colors and then mixed for other colors. I drew pictures on the glass with black sharpie marker (the nonpermanent did not work, bubbled up) from kids coloring books or from my immagination and then with the kids we painted in the designs. We had such fun and the kids said it was like coloring a giant coloring book. Removal is pretty easy, windex and alot of paper toweling depending on the size of your work of art, takes off the marker too. I still paint for the holidays even though my kids are grown and gone, now I do it with my grandkids. You could create you new family’s own mural for the holidays and personalize it for each child.

Take something that each member of the family likes. Bikes, dinosaurs, flowers, whatever and build from that. It coudl be paper, plastic or a toy. Write the name and year on the pieces and put on the tree…. might be ugly to other people, but precious in years to come.

I’ve been on the hunt for some new tree ornaments and lawn decorations and I found this site, ChristmastownTrees.com and I was so impressed with that they have to offer. Beyond the ornaments and outside decor, they’ve got a huge selection of artificial trees too. Not sure if you’re on the hunt for a pre lit artificial tree or not. You should check out their collection of ornaments, http://www.christmastowntrees.com/chtror.html#top I think these fun colored glittery ball ornaments are really great, http://www.christmastowntrees.com/twor6pa.html and if the boys are fans of Snoopy and Friends, there’s really great outdoor decorations they may love You you should check it out.
